A blog dedicated to all things triathlon. I am a 'fast' age grouper with ambitions to take my performance to the next level. Together with my husband and coach (K-Jop), I hope to continue to progress as an athlete, contribute to the growth of our sport, and help others in their journey by sharing my personal experiences and knowledge. These are our adventures!
About Me:
My name is Denise Gerrity Joplin, and I am a triathlete.
In my spare time, I am also a business partner and multisport coach (Assistant swim coach at St. Benedict's Day School, Running & Triathlon coach at Tri Optimum Performance).

I completed my first triathlon in 2007 with my dad, three days after he
taught me how to swim with any kind of style. Unfortunately, that "style"
disappeared with the anxiety of not being able to see the lane lines during an
open water swim, and I ended up doggy paddling/ side stroking the 400m swim.
Needless to say, I've come a long way since then.
In college, I joined the Auburn University Triathlon team, where I met my
husband and coach, Kyle Joplin.
While earning my masters in Biomedical Sciences at the University of
Virginia, we had the brilliant idea of opening a running store in Hattiesburg,
Mississippi. 7 months after our initial discussion, the doors to Runner's High
were open for business.
Recently, I was accepted to be a member of the Timex Factory Team. Kyle
suggested I start a blog, but recommended I "look at some other blogs first to
see what normal people do". So if you decide to continue reading,
consider this your warning...
